The facilities and services provided by Yanai Electric and Machinery contribute to the future of global environment by supporting the landscapes of buildings, industries and city/environment from the shadows.
Therefore, we created our office as a single landscape, which is the core of our business. The theme is "the office as a landscape." We designed a comfortable place that feels like being in nature, like being in a field.

Yanai Electric and Machinery Co., Ltd. is a company specializing in innovative solutions for electrical machinery.
Our focus is on supporting lifelines for everyday living, production facilities, and eco-friendly energy.
We deliver "happiness with peace of mind" to clients through our expertise in social infrastructure, plant operations, air conditioning, robotics systems integration, and drone image analysis.
Our commitment to staying ahead of the latest technological advancements ensures we deliver tailored solutions that exceed expectations.
We are dedicated to making a positive contribution to society.
In our Chemical Plant Solutions Department, we specialize in a variety of construction projects, including mechanical, electrical and telecommunication installations.
Since joining the company, I have come to appreciate the importance of cultivating trust-based relationships with everyone we do business with.
I learned that Yanai Electric and Machinery is a company that handles everything from equipment sales to support and maintenance.
I was impressed by the company's sense of responsibility towards its customers and felt that I wanted to work for such a wonderful company.
I joined the company as a sales representative in the Plant Systems Department, where we work on various installation projects, including mechanical, electrical, and telecommunication installations.
Through my daily interactions with customers, I have come to realize the importance of building strong relationships based on trust with people.
I believe that work can only be successful when there is mutual trust between people, and this awareness has increased with each experience.
Since joining the company, I have been receiving words of appreciation from customers every now and then I complete a job, which is always the most satisfying moment for me. Furthermore, as the Chemical Plant Solutions Department handles various projects in different fields, I have been able to acquire a wealth of knowledge and continue to grow every day.
I hope to continue my work while utilizing this knowledge.
I am mainly responsible for work related to water supply facilities, including installation, system proposals and maintenance management.
Water supply is essential infrastructure for our daily lives, so I feel that this is a very important and responsible job.
I attended a school with a focus on science and technology, but I have always enjoyed speaking in front of others and had an interest in sales. Around that time, CEO Yanai came to our school for recruitment and gave a talk.
I was impressed by his energy and enthusiasm, and that's what motivated me to join the company.
In my department, we propose systems and equipment related to agricultural water and water supply.
I am mainly in charge of water supply installations, system proposals and maintenance management.
Interestingly, since joining the company, I have been opening my textbooks from school more often.
While sales may be associated with liberal arts, the scientific knowledge I learned as a student in electrical and electronics engineering has been useful.
We need to show our customers various possibilities when making proposals, so the broad knowledge I acquired as a student has been helpful.
One of the most memorable jobs I have done so far was being involved in a large-scale renovation plan for a water treatment plant in a certain municipality, from start to finish.
The existing system was old, so I had to understand it from end to end before designing the system with the customer's usability and requests in mind.
It was a challenging job, but it was also very rewarding.
Water supply is an important infrastructure that is essential to daily life, so I believe that our work is very important and carries a heavy responsibility.
Currently, Japan's water supply infrastructure is facing problems such as population decline and facility aging.
We want to work towards solving these problems by utilizing IoT and AI.
Selling commercial air conditioning units to equipment vendors.
When it comes to sales, I had the impression that it involved going around to new customers and getting work, but in reality, it was sales to existing customers we have had a relationship with.
During my student days, I worked part-time at a restaurant and had an experience where I gave leftover napkins from a wedding event to a customer with a child, and they were very pleased.
When I shared this story with the CEO Yanai during a company briefing at Yamada Denki, he said, "Our company is one that delights customers by exceeding their expectations.
Why don't you apply the perspective you learned from that part-time job to our company?" This inspired me to join the company.
Initially, I tended to approach work from my own perspective, but now I can work from a customer-oriented perspective.
I have also learned to be conscious of not only our customers, such as construction workers, but also the people who use our equipment.
It is a great pleasure to continue serving customers who have been using our company's products for a long time.
From the customer's perspective, we are professionals in our field. Although our team is composed of many young members, we strive to absorb new knowledge without relying solely on our youth.
Creating something that did not exist before or improving something to benefit more people.
Our recently released system with an infrared camera-equipped drone can inspect abnormal locations on solar panels that normally take around four days to inspect in just 10 minutes.
My job at Yanai Electric and Machinery is to create something that did not exist before or to improve existing products to benefit more people.
Software development is done by our research and development group at the Fukuoka branch, while I focus on hardware research and development and field testing at the Oita head office.
Recently, we released a software for analysing IR images taken by drones to inspect solar panels.
Solar panels have the characteristic of producing heat in abnormal areas, and previously, people had to walk around with an infrared camera to check for abnormalities, which was a very labour-intensive task.
However, with our drone, we have succeeded in significantly increasing work efficiency, as what previously took about four days for a 1-megawatt solar power plant can now be inspected in about 10 minutes.
When creating new products, especially when dealing with software from overseas, the instruction manual is often written in English, which can be a difficult task for me as an engineer who has previously only worked for domestic customers. However, by using and testing the product in practice, we develop it to fit the required specifications, which can be a challenging but rewarding experience.
I hope to continue developing products that make our customers happy.
Our goal is to create factory automation solutions that can assist people in performing tasks that are usually done manually and repetitive in nature.
By assigning these tasks to robots, people can focus on more creative work.
When constructing a new factory or improving the facilities of an existing one, there are many tasks involved beyond just sales-related work such as creating proposal documents and submitting estimates.
This includes designing equipment, conducting site surveys, and sometimes supervising construction sites.
We are also focusing on the integration of "collaborative robots" that work with people.
Equipped with robotic hands and cameras that serve as eyes, these robots can perform light tasks such as grasping and placing objects, as well as tightening screws.
This helps free up workers from simple tasks and shift them towards more creative work.
Industrial robots typically have many safety constraints, such as the need to create barriers to prevent people from entering, but the collaborative robots we are working with have excellent safety designs, allowing them to work right next to people.
Lastly, I would like to share a little about our company's nature from the perspective of the sales department.
At our company, we perform a wide range of tasks from sales proposals to maintenance by engineers, so there are only few tasks that can be completed solely by sales.
We must work together with other departments, so unity within the company is crucial.
The ability to unite across departments is a unique characteristic of small and medium-sized enterprises.
I don't want to sound too boastful, but our company was the first to receive an order from the government to use subsidies to upgrade the air conditioning system of a nursing home.
We were consulted on the "total cost for the next 15 years, including not only the price of the new products to be purchased and the cost of installation, but also the running costs".
I suggested that we could receive subsidies from the government for equipment that contributes to energy conservation, and we were able to receive the order.
During the construction period, we held many detailed meetings to ensure the safety of the nursing home residents.
It was a difficult job, but we were very grateful for the positive feedback we received.
In our company, we have many long-term customers, so rather than making sales pitches on the spot, we tend to discuss various job opportunities once a certain level of trust has been established.
There are many occasions where we are appreciated and being able to work on jobs that we have personally acquired until the end is an enjoyment, as we can experience the satisfaction of resolving our customers' "concerns".
"Working at Yanai Electric and Machinery" involves sales, installations management, and maintenance engineering.
Each position has its own roles and enjoyment.
To enhance the fit of applicants to our company, we have created a story video for each position expressing the "Yanai Ryoku".
Please have a look.
ON We have condensed the job for different positions into 30 seconds video for broadcasting.
At our company, "sales ≠ just selling products." The job of sales is to create proposals that maximize customer value.
We redesigned our office to enhance communication and support creative challenges.
The open-plan space features multiple meeting areas, eliminating the need for scheduled meetings in conference rooms.
For confidential conversations, we have a discreet and private area called the "Mountain" which is also a symbol of our office.
We strive to create a workspace that is comfortable and accommodating for our employees, with seasonal plants, warm wooden desks, and a refreshing area.
Our goal is to continue to improve our workspace to make it more employee friendly.
Yanai Electric and Machinery publishes a report every year on its "CSR activities" that it is focusing on.
It is intended to report to everyone about the environmental preservation, comfortable workplace, social contributions, quality improvement, safety activities, business continuity planning (BCP), and ethical activities that have been carried out over the past year.
This is also a way for Yanai Electric and Machinery to let stakeholders know about its CSR activities and for all employees to re-recognize their role in society.
"We admire the people who continue to challenge themselves even if they fail." Pursuing such a corporate culture, we aim to bring happiness to our employees, customers, and the local community.
Our business covers a wide range of fields, including air conditioners, compressors, motors, elevators, and other general products, as well as energy-related businesses such as gas turbine power generation equipment, electric substations, and solar power plant, security and communication businesses such as surveillance cameras and disaster prevention radios, and social infrastructure-related businesses such as water supply facilities.
We handle a wide range of products to meet the needs of various customers and provide maintenance and operation services related to them.
In addition to these, we have recently developed image analysis software using drones to check the condition of electrical equipment and have also started a business as a system integrator for factory automation.
We focus on developing our human resources under the theme of "identifying and solving problems" and will continue to strive to be a company that can meet your expectations.
